Recently, Alice Chu's work and research revolving around arm motions in children with brachial plexus birth palsy, was chosen for funding by the Moore-Sloan Data Science Experiment.
New York University, University of California, Berkley and the University of Washington started a joint effort with Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to "harness the potential of data scientists and big data for basic research and scientific discovery". This partnership is hoping to create unity and collaborations amongst the college campuses.
